And Finally Spurs Tasted The Trophy

Published by Jack Ying at 1:20 pm under Carling Cup

I had never thought Tottenham to put until this far and even won away the trophy which usually ignored by big clubs from England. A little bit shock, Tottenham Hotspurs had beaten the trophies-strave, Chelsea football club in the Carling Cup final few days ago in the run time of 120 minutes in the match in Wembley Stadium. While, manager Juande Ramos was said to be the key of the winning. From my view, his terrific management seriously brought Tottenham Hotspurs back to their trophies challenge track.

Since the former manager, Martin Jol managed to upgrade the team to the biggest top 5 in Premiership. However, there was a crucial problem happened in this season, until the welcoming of current manager Juande Ramos. Chelsea’s hitman Didier Drogba broke the dead lock and put Chelsea forward in the 1st half while Bulgarian Berbatov equalized in the 70th minutes with an amazing penalty. New comer Jonathan Woodgate scored a stunning goal to seal the win.

Well, what actually are the elements that enabled Tottenham to win the match? Let’s check these out as the starting point of the following posts to analyse the match:

1) Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov’s partnership is now a well known topic in football area. Since the transfer of Berbatov to Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen, former player Jermaine Defoe was left out and became a subs while Berbatov’s amazing shows snaped himself as the first team in Spurs. Proceeding on the title challenge, his communication with teammates especially Robbie Keane to fire more goals. While his positioning on the fied is absolutely an assassination to every team in Barclay’s Premier League. Furthermore upon his calmness and skills on the ball are second-to-none. Great honour to him. Salute!!!

2) Arrival of new tranfered defender, Jonathan Woodgate from Middlesbrough. This English center defender accustomed to be called as ‘glass legs’ in Asia which means easily injure. However, Ramos managed to overturn fans’ views upon this issue. With Woodgate’s solid defence in Tottenham now, the team’s defensive line became more confident. In addition, his importance in the team is proven in this crucial match as he contributed a winning goal and chosen as man of the match.

3) Perfect combination of strategies and players. Midfielders successfully brought out Ramos’ strategies and ideas. Aaron Lennon’s speed piercing through the defence line while Jermaine Jenas’s creativity on the ball controlling the midfield and supplies chances to the forwards. Malbranque and Huddlestone’s form are absolutely at the top this season as they could release the true meaning and potential of Ramos’ strategies. Others like Didier Zokora and Tainio also contributed a lot to Spurs. Hmm…what I am seriously impressed is the braveness of young players. Even Ramos is agreeing on my view that his young mid line is brave enough for any challenge in any match.

4) Arriving of new manager Juande Ramos from Sevilla of Spanish La Liga. Ramos’ strength is being signified by other teams when he was coaching in Sevilla. While, he continues his legend in Tottenham Hotspurs. As you and I know, he is exactly the same as Liverpool boss, Rafa Benitez. From my analysis, both of them are having the same ability in cups matches.

Well…without further ado, lets watch the impressive match:
